1982 to present, co-owner of The Apple House Home and Garden Center;
The Apple House is a family-owned business started in 1939 by my grandfather.
2000 to 2007, completed two full terms on the Common Council for the city
of Terre Haute; Republican representing the 2nd District of the city.
Community Efforts
Served six years on the board of directors for the Indiana Nursery and
Landscape Association, a trade association representing the nursery
industry in the state. Served as President of the INLA in 1996.
Served three years on the board of trustees of Gibault School for Boys,
a boarding school for troubled boys and young men sponsored by the
Knights of Columbus of the state of Indiana.
Served five years on the parish council of St. Patrick Parish in Terre Haute.
Served as President in 1998. The parish council oversees a parish of 700
families and a school of 300 students.
Member of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation. Three articles published
in the journal of the Foundation on property rights, taxation and government
regulation, and campaigning as a limited-government conservative.
